The United Arab Emirates is a federation of 7 Emirates: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm al-Quwain & Ras al-Khaimah.
In order to respect local laws and cultural sensitivities, we will no longer accept the following content from the UAE into Creative and Editorial collections:
- Images or video files containing an individual woman wearing a burka or hijab without a model release.
- Images or video files containing minors without a guardian or model release.
- Images or video files of local weddings will not be accepted, unless model releases have been obtained.
- Images or video files of courts, police stations, government buildings, military sites, embassies and consulates located in the UAE – unless part of a wide city skyline.
- Drone photography or video files: no particular focus on any person. No close ups of specific individuals. Content should not ‘invade privacy’. Although there is no specific definition on what would be considered to invade one’s privacy – the general rule of thumb is ‘do not shoot anything from the air that you would not shoot on the ground’.
